CARS. On the timeline of humanity, aside from the device you are holding right now, the automobile is up there on the achievement list of technology we have created…for better and/or worse. This Wonderly World delves into a couple fascinations of mine. 1. All things miniature and macro and the juxtaposition of those objects within fabricated sets. 2. Old stuff—broken down, texture-soaked, lived-in, “there’s a story in that one” types of objects. 3. Layers—not just the visual layers but the mental as well. Textures of eroded paint. Cracks. The obvious metaphor here of the car and our existence, possibly even our obsolescence. I’ve been collecting these toys and photographing them over the years. Most recently I did the stop motion with the knolling composition to tie it all in. I’ve had prints of these in shows and galleries while also having the luxury of pulling them out from time to time and being a kid as I explore. Hope you enjoy the ride!

The Wonder Tree. It establishes how I see the world. A literal time lapse and layer of a place and object that I have seen and visited over and over and love. We are all creatures of that habit. Habitual worship is the pillar of our species. In a way, this site and even this platform - is an outlet to enable interaction of that need. How this tree looks inspires me to photograph it. Visiting it so many times throughout the years in different weather and light makes for a moving canvas that has also become a creative fixture in my process. These objects in places surpassing time are what make me feel the daily need to create. Enjoy
